Major Tool & Machine was featured during the week of July 2, 2012 in the “Made in Indiana” page of Purdue University’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership web site. The site showcases Indiana’s vast array of products and the companies that are in manufacturing. Their objective is to highlight the contributions manufacturing makes to the state’s economy and to feature companies that are customer focused, forward thinking, continuously improving their productivity, and desire to grow and compete both locally and globally. Rick Wiegand told the crowd at the 2nd Annual Garden Party that as a resident of the neighborhood MTM has the social and moral responsibility to be active in and contribute to it. MTM has been strong and active supporters of The Felege Hiywot Center where their Mission is; “We, the Felege Hiywot Center, serve urban youth of Indianapolis, second generation Ethiopians in Indianapolis, and orphans in Ethiopia. We teach gardening and environmental preservation. We encourage youth to embrace the virtues of community service. We perform this mission as an expression of our Christian faith.” At Major Tool and Machine our charitable philosophy is simple in that we support community organizations local to our campus and groups that our employees are active in. We work with well-known community partners such as Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and Indiana Blood Center as well as organizations such as Felege Hiywot Children’s Center, Oaks Academy, and local student organizations and athletic teams.” Click here to read the speech.
